Puppy Ears! I plan on painting the kiddies faces and giving them each a set of puppy ears...super cute for some photo ops. Also fun to take home and play with as well (always a plus).
These were super simple and inexpensive to make...my favorite kind of craft! A headband, hot glue and felt is all you need!
I purchased fabric covered headbands at the dollar store...3 for $1...awesome!
Then I cut a dog ear shape out of felt. I free-handed the first one and just used it for the template for the others. I was not particularly worried about them being perfect since I figure dog ears in general aren't :)! I was able to get three ears out of a piece of felt.
I used a total of 7 pieces of felt. After cutting the ears out, I used the remaining scraps to make dots. Again, I just free-handed the circles and wasn't worried about perfection. I hot glued the circles onto the ears.
Then it was time to attach the ears to the headbands. When gluing them on, it's important that you don't glue more than about an inch of the felt. I made this mistake the first time and realized that the ears lost their cute "floppiness".
Hot glue the back of the headband to the felt as shown above and then add hot glue and fold over each edge of the ear to close completely. Again...about an inch of felt is all you need glued.
And that's it! Super easy...super cute and ready for some adorable kids to wear them.
I can't wait for her birthday and the fun party photos I will be sharing!
